Full-Service Design

How full-service design works…

Your project starts with a design consultation…

The Consultation

During the initial meeting, we will discuss your goals, wants, and needs. It’s a getting to know you session. During this meeting, we will walk through your space to discuss your overreaching goals about your home or office and the spaces you want to improve. Information about your goals will be discussed and the costs involved and how it relates to your budget. We’ll establish a realistic budget and timeline that will make the best use of your available funds. If it’s new construction we’ll go over the construction timeline and construction documents or plans.

Your Proposal

After the initial consultation and after we’ve discussed your budget, the scope of work and specific wants and needs we will meet again to deliver the design proposal, and at that time a retainer will be paid out to get moving onto the 1st phase of the design job.
Programming – We start every project with programming. It is a process during which information about a problem is collected, analyzed, and clearly stated to provide a basis for the design. It defines a problem before a solution is attempted.

Design Phases

Phase 1

Schematic Design
Programming is the 1st phase of your design project. We will evaluate the job site checking for existing furniture that might be reused. Obtain a scaled floor plan or measure job site to obtain necessary dimensions. At this phase, we will also determine your style, color, and aesthetic preferences. Prepare preliminary furniture plans. Preliminary selections of interior architectural finishes. Preliminary furniture, furnishings, and equipment selections. We will also review applicable building, life safety, and accessibility codes, and apply as required.

Phase 2

Construction Documentation
Purchase all lighting, fixtures, fabrics, furnishings, equipment, appliances. Review shop drawings, and finish samples. Installation of interior materials and finishes. At this time any construction or installation of window coverings, kitchen cabinetry, and plumbing fixtures will begin. Supervise site work, site visits, and project management to ensure consistency with the design intent.

Phase 3

Project Completion and Installation
Installation: Installation/arrangement of new items purchased may or may not happen all at once, depending on furniture arrival dates. However, we prefer to do as much as we can at one time so that you get to see the space as a whole. Design management and installation fees are also included in the final invoice. During the installation, we ask that you give us that time alone with our installation team to ensure that everything is perfect and complete prior to your arrival.
